2 Corinthians 5:7 – Rely on Our Faith

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

This verse tells us that whatever we do, we should rely on our faith rather than sight. However, we always take “seeing is believing” as our principles of conduct. Such an idea is incorrect. For example, Thomas was a person of little faith. He saw things only by sight, not by faith. When someone told him that the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected, he did not believe it until he saw the Lord with his own eyes. When the Lord Jesus appeared to him and asked him to touch His rib, he fell down before the Lord and was thoroughly shamed. What warning do Thomas’ doubt and little faith give us? God says, “What happened with Thomas was a warning and a caution for later generations so that more people could warn themselves not to be doubting like Thomas, and if they were, they would sink into the darkness. If you follow God, but just like Thomas, you always want to touch the Lord’s rib and feel His nail marks to confirm, to verify, to speculate on whether or not God exists, God will forsake you. So, the Lord Jesus requires people to not be like Thomas, only believing what they can see with their own eyes, but to be a pure, honest person, to not harbor doubts toward God, but only believe in and follow Him. This type of person is blessed. This is a very small requirement the Lord Jesus has for people, and a warning for His followers.

From God's words, we know which kind of belief can satisfy God's will. Maybe you want know more about faith in God, I can share you all a Christian movie "Faith in God", which tell us about what true faith in God is, maybe you like it.
